A place our lone combat soldiers can call home

In memory of Major Benji Hillman z"l

OUR VISION

Our vision is that all lone combat soldiers will have a real home to call their own for the duration of their army service, and should be able to stay in Israel and prosper thereafter.

THE HOME

Located on municipal land on the outskirts of Ra'anana, HaBayit shel Benji was built with the generous assistance of thousands of donors from all over the world. Since opening in early 2013, HaBayit shel Benji has become "The Home" for lone combat soldiers in Israel.

Each soldier has his/her own air-conditioned room (with cable TV and wireless internet connection), for the entire duration of their service, and enjoys home cooked meals, laundry services (volunteers take their laundry when the soldier comes home for the weekend, and return it clean, folded and ready to go back to the army when the soldier returns) a common room and library, leisure and recreation activities etc.

THE GUIDANCE CENTER

HaBayit shel Benji’s Guidance and Support Center is open to all lone soldiers (not just to residents of the Bayit) and provides support programs to over 300 lone soldiers a year as they make the difficult transition from army to civilian life. The goal is to help them achieve sufficient stability to become independent, productive and well-adjusted citizens.

Lone soldiers do not have a supportive family who will be there for them if they make mistakes, get into debt or choose an unsuitable education track. This is why it is so important to provide them with support and guidance as they navigate the transition from military to civilian life.

WANT TO GET INVOLVED?

and ALL lone soldiers can receive comprehensive guidance before starting their civilian life.
